Bucharest Stock Exchange ended in the red today, after a strong optimism in the past days, with FIC sector (BSE:SIF) shed 2.42% while the market posted 1,81% decline at closing, in tight correlation with the international markets.
The liquidity at the Bucharest Stock Exchange shrank markedly Thursday by almost a third, to 13.68 million lei (€3.22 million) from yesterday’s 33.25 million lei (€7.83 million).

BET index that gauges the performance of the ten most liquid stocks at the BSE finished down 2.10% to 4,803.92 points, while the composite BET-C fell 1.81% to 2,765.65.

BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies (BSE:SIF) closed 2.42% lower to 24,169.49points, while Vienna Stock Exchange’s ROTX dropped 1.86% to 10,000 points.

BET-XT index that measures the performance of the 25 most liquid shares closed 2.11% lower to 474.08points and BET-NG of the energy companies listed at BSE fell 2.02% to 583.75points.

European stock markets were falling sharply at BSE’s closing, led by financial shares. At the London Stock Exchange, FTSE index of leading 100 shares was shedding 1.15% to 5,259points while Germany’s DAX suffered a 0.67% decline to 5,864. Paris’ CAC40 was falling 0.85% to 3,843points.

Banca Transilvania has led the most traded stock chart today, with shares worth 3.17million lei changing hands, pushing prices down 1.25% to 2.37 lei. BRD SocGen shares fell 3.06% to 13.40lei in a liquidity of 544,097.

In the financial investment companies sector, FIC Oltenia (BSE:SIF5) recorded a liquidity of 3.15 million lei as shares dropped 2.27% to 1.29lei. FIC Moldova (BSE:FIC2) moved 2.54% lower to 1.15 lei, in a liquidity of 1.81 million lei.

Oltchim shares moved surprisingly lower today, after a strong start in the morning. OLT shares ended 11.72% lower, to 0.2560lei, in a liquidity of 667,934lei.

Transactions with Rompetrol Rafinare shares (BSE:RRC) totaled 535,433 lei, while prices dropped 4.29%. Petrom decreased 1.93% to 0.2540lei, in a liquidity of 201,886lei.
