Germanwings partially resumes flights

Germanwings has resumed service this morning, and will bring back to Germany stranded passengers in international airports, the carrier’s flight schedule being available on its website.

Flights to islands and remote locations where no other means of transport are available take precedence, the carrier announced.

Germanwings obtained the approval from air traffic control for using a part of its fleet on German airports. The company has 27 Airbus A319 aircrafts.

The volcanic ash from the eruption of the volcano in Iceland has grounded 63,000 flights since Thursday and closed the European airspace, including Romania, the airlines recording daily loss of €150 million.
