Around 47% of the companies with over 11 employees have reduced the amounts allocated for IT departments in an effort to withstand the crisis, a recent survey conducted by software providers IT Assist found.
Cost reduction measures consisted in recruitment freeze, layoff and reduction of investment budget.
Companies have also reduced their spending on E&C department (56%), and sales and marketing department (53%).
“Unfortunately, we see that many companies decide to cut their tech spending, only in terms of accounting, without a real assessment of causes and implications of these cost-containment actions as well as an analysis of alternative solutions”, said Marius Militaru, marketing and sales director of IT Assist.
242 companies in Bucharest and Ilfov and from almost all sectors of activity participated in the survey.
