The National Bank of Romania posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2100 lei per euro yesterday.

The national currency dropped from 4.2140 to 4.2190 per euro in the early trades and waved near 4.2140 around 10 a.m. It resumed the downward trend at 1:45 p.m. and banks were buying a euro with 4.2160 lei and selling it for 4.2210 lei.

In the region, the zloty fell from 4.4080 to 4.4341 over the euro and the forint lost from 275.60 to 278.60 against the European currency.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR settled a benchmark exchange rate 0.51 percent higher than yesterday to 3.0289 lei per dollar, from 3.0135 in the previous session.
