Romtelecom, the first operator in CEE certified by Cisco Managed Services

Romtelecom has recently achieved the Cisco Managed Services certification, and now holds the required resources and procedures for the development, management and maintenance of Cisco-based VPN services and Internet. Thus, Romtelecom is the first operator in Central and Eastern Europe to receive the certification.

Managed Services Channel is a form of Cisco premium partnership for providers who include Cisco solutions in their service range. The program sets the recognition standard of provider’s investments in tools and processes to provide intelligent network administration services.

Enrollment of Romtelecom to Cisco Managed Services Channel reflects successful completion of the rigorous audit process for VPN and Internet services and the fulfillment of the terms imposed by Information Technology Infrastructure Library framework of the best practices and market demand.

“The integration of services under management allows Romtelecom clients to line up their IT and business objectives, it allows them to streamline their inside resources on their main components in parallel with meeting the operating and IT infrastructure needs via the technology delivered as service”, said Bogdan Constantinescu, managing director of Cisco Romania.

VPN is a data networking service based on IP-MPLS technology that enables clients to use tunneled and secure communications, to provide integrity, privacy and performance.

MetroNet is a premium Internet service with symmetrical international bandwidth of up to 50 Mbps, ideal for server hosting, file swap, remote office applications, and general bidirectional data transfer at 128Kbps – 2Mbps.
