The producer prices jumped 2.62% in November 2009 compared to a year earlier, buoyed by water supply, sewerage, and waste management, marking the first month of increase in the sector after five successive months of decline, according to data provided by the national statistical office.
Broken down by sectors, water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities grew 13.19% in November, energy prices, home-heating, natural gas and air conditioning jumped 4.16% while producer prices in processing industry increased by 2.68%.
Prices in mining and quarrying dropped 4.01%.
Broken down by industrial groups, durable goods prices rose 10.15%, non-durables climbed 7.69%, energy increased by 5.53%, while capital goods by 3.02%. Intermediary goods dropped 5%.
On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.56% in November. By destination, both producer prices for the domestic market and for foreign markets grew 0.4% and 0.9% respectively.
Producer prices in mining and quarrying were 1.42% higher in October and 0.64% higher in processing industry. However, energy prices, home-heating, natural gas, hot water supply, and air conditioning dropped 0.1%. Water supply, sewerage, waste management and other remediation activities stagnated in November from a month earlier.
Energy prices grew 1.19% in November, non-durable goods increased by 0.5%, capital goods by 0.36% and intermediary goods by 0.25%, while durables fell 1.03%.
