Maybach -2Last year, two Maybach cars have been registered in the Romanian market, three times less than a year earlier.

Only one new Maybach has been registered in the Jan-Nov 2009 period, same as a year earlier.

The demand for used Maybach cars has remained weak in 2009, with only one model registered versus 5 a year earlier.

Mercedes-Benz Romania sold one Maybach 57S in 2009, worth €450,000.

The bi-turbo V12 engine of the Maybach 57S produces 604 HP and achieves 100km/h in only five seconds. The top speed is 280km/h.

In 2009, Maybach unveiled at Frankfurt auto show its new Zeppelin model, powered by a 6.0-liter V12 bi-turbo engine that puts out 640HP and at 1,000torque. Maybach Zeppelin comes in two versions, 57 and 62. Maybach 57 Zeppelin is priced at €406,000 while Zeppelin 62 costs €473,200.


Rolls-Royce 5

The more budget-conscious Romanians were not very allured by the luxury of owning a Rolls-Royce last year, as only 5 used cars were sold in the period under review.

In 2008, 22 Rolls-Royce cars were registered, 118% more than in 2007.

Of the 22 cars sold, 11 were new and 11 were second-hand.

Rolls-Royce cars are assembled at Goodwood plant in UK.

Lamborghini 9 cars

9 Lamborghini cars were sold in the Jan-Nov period last year, 25% fewer than a year earlier.

Only one new Lamborghini was shipped last year compared to 7 a year earlier.

Used car registrations increased in 2009 to 8 from 5 a year earlier.

Lamborghini unveiled the new Reventon in October last year, a car with a price tag of €1.6 million.

The car, assembled at Murcielago LP640 platform, is powered by a V12 6.5-liter engine that produces 650HP.

Reventon can achieve a top speed of 340km/h and 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, this being the world’s fastest car.

The production of Reventon was limited to 21 cars at the Sant’Agata Bolognese plant in Italy.

Aston Martin 10 cars

Only ten Aston Martin cars were registered in the first 11 months of 2009, 63% less than year-ago period.

The local demand for Aston Martin fell four-fold in 2009, with only 2 new cars sold.

Second-hand Aston Martin cars recorded a 58% decline in 2009 from 19 to 8.

In Romania, one of the Aston Martin dealers is Carles, the premium and luxury division of BDT Group.

Ferrari 19 cars

Registrations of Ferrari cars in Romania fell 49% in Jan-Nov 2009, from 37 to 19.

Only 16 Ferrari cars were registered last year, 16% down from the same period of 2008.

3 second-hand Ferrari cars were registered in Romania in 2009, down 83% from a year earlier.

Ferrari will launch F458 model, the successor of F430. F458 Italy is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine that produces 570HP. The car can reach 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, and a maximum 325km/h.

Ferrari lineup includes California, 458 Italia, F430 Spider, 430 Scuderia, Scuderia Spider 16M, 612 Scaglietti and 599 GTB Fiorano.

Maserati 26 cars

Maserati sold 26 new and used cars last year in Romania, 60% less than a year earlier.

The demand for Maserati limousines fell 72% in the Jan-Nov period, from 40 cars to only 11.

Maserati sold 15 used cars in 2009, 40% less than 25 a year earlier.

Maserati dealer in Romania is Autoitalia since 2002.

In 2009, Autoitalia shipped the new Quattroporte Sport GT S and GranTurismo S Automatic models, available at prices starting €119,000 (VAT included).

The new Quattroporte GTS is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine that produces 440HP. It reaches 100km/h in five seconds and a top speed of 270km/h.

Bentley 31 cars

The luxury brand with the biggest sales in Romania in the 11month period through November was Bentley with 31 cars sold, 60% less than a year earlier when the carmaker reported 75 cars sold in Romania.

Car sales halved in 2009, with 11 new cars and 20 used cars sold, 62% less than a year earlier.

Bentley will launch in Europe in summer this year, its new Mulsanne with a price tag of €243,000. The car is expected to arrive in Romania at the end of the year.

The carmaker expects to sell 700 Mulsanne units worldwide.

Bentley Mulsanne will be powered by a 6.8-liter V8 engine that puts out 512HP. The new car measures 6.56 meters in length. The Mulsanne offers a palette of 114 paint colors and 24 interior leather hides.
