Romania's largest bank by assets Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), owned by the Austrian lender Erste Bank, will keep the headcount at 8,700 by the end of the year, the bank's executive president Dominic Bruynseels said on The Money Channel.
He mentioned BCR did not freeze recruitment drive and that it planned to hire the best staff on the market. Some people could leave because the lender's most important asset, the employees, must be kept at the highest level NewsIn informs.
Bruynseels underlined that BCR had a good cost to revenue ratio, but that it aimed at improving efficiency, including through the employees' payment policy, that offers bonuses for efficiency.
Erste Bank said at the end of July it does not intend to make any layoffs and that the lender would continue to extend its network by adding 50 new units across the country by the end of the year, according to the Erste Group head, Andreas Treichl.
