The reference rate set today by the National Bank of Romania fell 0.31% today to 4.1252 lei against euro, in line with its peers in the region.
On Friday, NBR set a reference rate of 4.1382 lei/euro.
The leu rose steadily today in the inter-bank market from 4.15 to 4.12 lei/euro.
In the region, euro lost ground against a basket of currencies today. The Polish zloty moved up from 4.09 to 4.06/euro, while the Hungarian forint fell initially from 271.10 to 271.60 forints/euro but grew afterwards to 270.50 forints/euro.
For the US dollar, the reference rate set by the National Bank of Romania fell 0.6% to 2.9079/dollar from Friday’s 2.9255lei/dollar.
