Government adds 267mln lei to local transport budget

The budget of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for 2009 has been increased by 267.2 million lei, of which 100million lei will fund major transport improvements performed by state-owned economic agents and 90 million lei for subsidizing public rail transport.

“The government has adopted the decision to increase the budget of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for 2009 from the Government’s reserves by 77,292 thousand lei under Chapter 84.01, of which 10,992 thousand lei under “Transfers between public administration sectors”, 30,346 thousand lei under “Other Transfers” and 35,954 thousand lei under “Expenses for non-refundable programs””, reads the Government Decision published in the Official Gazette.

The government has adopted another decision, to increase the budget of the ministry of transportation and infrastructure for 2009 by 190 million lei, of which 90 million lei will be used to subsidy the public rail transport and 100 million lei to fund public transport investments of state-owned economic agents.

Earlier this month, the budget of the Ministry of Transportation has been the recipient of another 29 million lei, aimed at subsidizing public rail transport.
