Romania's national currency, the leu, continued to depreciate during today’s session and he National Bank of Romania set a benchmark exchange rate of 4.3079 lei per euro, 0.2 percent up from the previous session, the highest since February 17, 2009, NewsIn informs.
NBR reported yesterday an official exchange rate of 4.2995 lei per euro.
The leu had a moderately stable evolution versus the euro in the early trades and traded between 4.3050 and 4.31 per euro, amid a generally downward trend of the emerging currencies in the region.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate climbed 0.4 percent to 2.9197 lei per dollar, from 2.9074 in the previous session.
